Small Manufacturing: You Better Be Interesting

Written by Todd Hockenberry | May 04, 2010

Why is most marketing done by manufacturing companies boring in the extreme?  Why don't technical people make marketing that is as interesting as their product?

What do you think will interest the cohort of engineers and technical people that were educated in the last 15 years?  What will get a 30 something prospect excited about your company?

A boring product focused web site?

A 2 page handout on your product features?

Your sales guy's winning personality?

Your ad in a magazine?

Your $500 pop up back drop at a trade show?

No chance.

Manufacturers need to start using the tools available to create images, video, augmented reality, and internet footprints that make prospects see themselves using and loving their solutions.

Manufacturers will spend money to have the best technology available to make their products - they need to apply the same thinking and resources to marketing their products.
